Very bad service and unfriendly staff. They treat me in a very patronizing way.
Only came to check out the building and architecture. Very historic and loved how they have the Hong Kong Observatory typhoon signals too.
I love old buildings and this is one of my favorite choice. We tried the afternoon tea set plus champagne. Everything is 5 star level. The view, food, atmosphere, service, even guests.
If u are a visitor in hk, don't miss this historical site, enjoy the food and services, stay at least 1 night if possible. U won't regret it.
Having a set lunch in ODEA French restaurant hidden in 1881 heritage. It newly opened in Jun2020. We ordered a 2-course and 3-course lunch. It serves up fresh and hot buns and baguettes, yet the staff just barely and unclearly named the buns and wanted us to choose. I can hardly know what buns are provided and was confused. The staff should be more professional and well trained. For the appetizer, the salmon and hamachi were not surprising and the seasoning is similar- simply olive oil. For the main, the Morocco style roasted chicken was tender and juicy. I guess it’s sous vide, yet I prefer more savoury and tangy roasted chicken. The beef tenderloin was disappointing, tender but weak beef favour. Overall, The vibe and environment was excellent. The service and food were a bit ordinary for a french restaurant. The cost-performance value was just fair. Tried once is enough.
My new favourite hotel in Hong Kong. Incredibly roomy, which is a word I've never used to describe ANY place in Hong Kong. And the fabulous balcony where you can just sit and enjoy the breeze, some people watching and a glass or 10 of wine. (I just visited in January. The weather is nice.)
The only thing that could have been improved would have been a view of harbour but it's already a near perfect 5.
The staff were all incredibly nice and friendly and it was nice that since it's a small hotel, you'll start recognising faces immediately.
